Wisdom from the Marches

"I see. It's nice to have accomplishments and be elegant, but not to show off or get perked up," said Amy thoughtfully. "These things are always seen and felt in a person's manner and conversation, if modestly used, but it is not necessary to display them," said Mrs. March. "Any more than it's proper to wear all your bonnets and gowns and ribbons at once, that folks may know you've got them," added Jo; and the lecture ended in a laugh. -from Little Women

  2. That's cute. I read the young person Little Women a long time ago and have tried to read the big one but haven't gotten around to it yet. All of my family likes it, and my sisters and I can relate to these sisters. :)

  3. I love that book and story! Yes, we all can relate so well, especially because there are four of us girls left at home, and we are all very close in age and relation. I love Alcott's writings. :)
